Standard Chartered appoints global head, digital channels & data

Standard Chartered has announced the appointment of Martijn De Jongas Global Head, Digital Channels & Data. Effective 2 January, he is based in Singapore and reports to Lisa Robins, Global Head, Transaction Banking.

In this role, Martijn will be responsible for driving Transaction Banking’s overall digitisation and innovation agenda. He was most recently the Chief Digital Officer and Chief Marketing Officer for the global insurer Aegon, based in Mumbai, and has also held senior roles across various markets with several telcos including Vodafone, where he drove their digital transformation programmes.

Recent examples include our collaboration with Siemens Financial Services and TradeIX to pilot an end-to-end blockchain-based smart guarantees proposition in trade finance, and our partnership with Ant Financial to be their core partner bank for a new blockchain cross-border remittance solution.
