Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking announces appointments within its Global Markets division

Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking announces the following appointments within its Global Markets division:

-- Yann Garnier is appointed Head of Global Markets in Asia Pacific. He replaces Frank Drouet who has recently been appointed Head of Global Markets.

Yann Garnier is based in Hong Kong and reports functionally to Frank Drouet as well as locally to Hikaru Ogata, CEO of Societe Generale Global Banking & Investor Solutions in Asia Pacific. This appointment is submitted to the local regulator for validation.

-- Marc El Asmar is appointed Head of Sales for Global Markets, succeeding, in respect of this role, David Escoffier who has decided to leave the Group. Marc El Asmar is based in London and reports to Frank Drouet, Head of Global Markets.

These appointments are effective as of today.

Biographies:
Yann Garnier: Yann Garnier is appointed Head of Global Markets for Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in Asia Pacific in April 2016. Previously, he was Deputy Head of Global Markets Asia Pacific since 2015 on top of his role as Head of Global Market Sales, Asia Pacific.

Yann joined Societe Generale in Paris in 1998 as an Equity Derivatives Marketer. He became Structured Products Sales in 2000, and was later appointed Head of Equity Derivatives Sales, Central Eastern Europe Middle East and Africa in 2007.

Yann relocated to Hong Kong in 2009 to become Head of Structured Products Sales, Global Equities and Derivatives Solutions for Asia Pacific. In July 2009, he was appointed Head of Sales for Cross Asset Solutions for Asia Pacific, additionally becoming Head of FI & Corporate Fixed Income and Currencies Flow Sales in 2011.

Yann graduated from EDHEC Business School, and holds a Master’s degree in Business Law from Paris X University.

Marc El Asmar: Marc El Asmar is appointed Head of Sales for Global Markets at Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in April 2016. He was previously Deputy Head of Equities and Derivatives and Co-Head for Cross Asset Sales since 2015.

Marc began his career at Societe Generale in Paris in 1999, within Equity Derivatives Sales to the Middle East and North Africa. He was named Head of Sales, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2005 then Head of Structured & Listed Products Sales for Northern Europe, within the Equity Derivatives division in 2007. In 2012, he was appointed Global Head of Sales for Cross Asset Solutions then Global Head of Sales for Equities & Derivatives and Cross Asset Solutions in 2015.

Marc is a graduate of École Supérieure d'Aéronautique et d'Aérospatiale.
