The Tratok Project appoints Philippe Paillart as Chairman

The world has come a long way since the silver and golden coins of the past, with the gradual regulation over time of who was allowed print currency to the spread and acceptance of it and now the introduction of electronic currency.

At the forefront of the development of the payment systems, with an early career as Director of Strategic Planning and business development at Diner’s Club International, the world’s first credit card, Philippe Paillart has always taken great pride in revolutionizing the way payments and banking happened.

Credited with the creation of the first global retail organization within Citibank, “Citibank International Personal Banking”, Paillart helped transform Banking into services accessible to all as well as offering innovative products and services to selected personal and corporate segments.

He pursued his career on the five continents, resident in Europe, the US, and several countries in Asia. On the payment side and along his responsibilities on the Boards of Visa and MasterCard , he was the first to introduce the Smart Card in Most of the Asian countries ( including china and India).

For Philippe Paillart, blockchain is the inevitable natural development in streamlining electronic payments and ensuring fair trade practices and transparency for the end user and is proud to be spearheading this revolution with Tratok.

He also teaches at the Banking Academy as a Senior Faculty Member. He is Chairman of LINK Financial, a European Leader in credit operations and Chairman of OneEmpower, the Financial tech company in Singapore, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Mr. Paillart is the former CEO and Vice Chairman of DBS Bank, South east Asia largest Bank. Prior to that he served as Chairman and CEO of Ford Credit and Ford Financial Services( creating the biggest finance company as well as largest leasing company in the world), and as Standard Chartered Group Executive Director directly responsible for Retail Banking worldwide and Group Strategy.

Philippe Paillart graduated from the Paris Business School (ESCP) with major in Accounting & Finance. He is also a graduate of the Paris Universities (Law School (Paris II) and economics( Paris I - Pantheon.Sorbonne) and received his PMD from Harvard University.
