Singapore, 5th November 2020— BPC Banking Technologies awarded Best Payments Technology in Africa at The Asian Banker Middle East and Africa Regional Awards 2020.
Enabled operational efficiency with room for personalisation using SmartVista
BPC Banking Technologies partnered with Bank of Africa to migrate all the bank’s systems to SmartVista without impacting on its day-today operations. This allowed the bank to centralise all its channels, card and ecommerce activities for maximum efficiency and cost control. BPC made sure that Bank of Africa can have country-specific requirements when it comes to compliance and personalisation of services while still using a centralised process for both local and global efficiency.
Seamless local and global payment services with additional security layers
This project collaboration with SATIM allowed for nationwide interoperability so that consumers could make payments anywhere without friction while gaining consumers’ trust through secure payment services. Using the SmartVista system, SATIM experienced a significant rise in card usage and adoption, where card issuance more than doubled from 900,000 in 2018 to 2.1 million in 2020. Furthermore, SATIM was the first institution to be certified by Mastercard in Algeria and uses OTP for e-commerce and the latest Mastercard security certifications.
Seamlessly integrates operation features with enhanced fraud management
The successful implementation of SmartVista allowed Tyme Bank to perform quick and easy KYC process based on their customers South African ID, biometrics and mobile phone number. This reduced waiting time for customers while enhancing the bank’s fraud management system. Tyme Bank and BPC managed to build an entire banking infrastructure from the ground up to support Tyme Bank’s ambitions to deliver a unique low-cost and safe innovative service to their customers.
