Tan Kong Khoon, President and CEO of Hong Leong Financial Group has been instrumental in heading the digital transformation of the leading financial group in Malaysia, and transitioning to a green and sustainable future.
Under Tan’s leadership, Hong Leong Financial Group has made “digital at the core” a key strategic driver across all operating businesses. Its commercial banking division developed a new generation of digital offerings that were designed to cater customer needs, maintaining the delivery of seamless and frictionless digital banking experiences to customers.
Despite the challenges during the period under review, Hong Leong Financial Group sustained its growth trajectory with all key capital, liquidity and credit metrics remaining sound. In the financial year ended 30 June 2021, the group recorded a commendable net profit of $552 million, which is higher by 21.9% as compared to the preceding financial year. Its ROE of 10.4% is higher in 2021 than the preceding financial year of 9.3%.
Under his leadership, Hong Leong Financial Group is recognised as the Best Managed Bank and Financial Holding Group in Malaysia.
The CEO Leadership Achievement for Malaysia Award goes to President and CEO of Hong Leong Financial Group, Tan Kong Khoon.
