UAE-based payment solution provider OMA Emirates announces Indian operation

Leading United Arab Emirates based payment solutions provider OMA Emirates announced its strategic entry in India on Friday. The company currently has a presence in the Middle East, Europe and select parts of Asia. The immediate Indian operations will commence with sales, business development, and marketing along with the acquisition of mPOS solutions company MobiSwipe.

OMA Emirates’ entry in India has been followed by its acquisition of MobiSwipe. MobiSwipe allows merchants to accept payments via Credit and Debit card by using the mobile device which gets connected to the pocket sized card reader. The acquisition by OMA Emirates enables MobiSwipe to be offered in countries outside of India.

OMA Emirates has been associated with the merchant business for over 15 years in Middle East in UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain and has deployed more than 80,000 Ingenico Point of Sale (PoS) terminals with partner banks and acquirers.

Ingenico terminals caters to the demands of merchants, retailers, banks catering to industries like hospitality, retail, vending acquirers, petrol and transportation with payment solution covering all points of transactions. Also, over the last few years, the company has expanded its business reach into Africa, Eastern Europe and APAC regions with multiple strategic investments.

With its foray in India, the company will expand its presence across India in the Metros and tier 1 cities to begin with. OMA Emirates is also focused on increasing its sales and market share in addition to extending reach to neighbouring countries.
