TBC Uzbekistan issues 1 million flagship TBC Salom cards in first year of rollout

TBC Bank Uzbekistan (TBC UZ), the country’s largest digital bank and part of TBC Uzbekistan’s market-leading digital banking ecosystem, announced that it has issued more than one million TBC Salom cards - its flagship debit card and daily banking product - in just over one year since its rollout.

TBC Salom has grown rapidly since its launch in November 2024, as TBC UZ cements its position as the leading digital bank for retail customers in the country. It is becoming the key entry point into TBC Uzbekistan’s wider ecosystem and one of the most popular daily banking products on the market. Accessible, quick and designed for everyday use, it is the primary way that users begin their relationship with TBC Uzbekistan, Central Asia’s leading one-stop-shop for individuals and businesses to handle their financial needs.

TBC Uzbekistan continues to expand profitably into new high-growth consumer and business segments, bringing a range of new products to market such as TBC Osmon credit card, TBC Insurance and SME lending. As it executes its strategy to build the region’s premier two-sided digital banking ecosystem, TBC Salom acts as a crucial cornerstone, attracting new customer cohorts and unlocking opportunities to convert them into higher-value multi-product users.

Nika Kurdiani, CEO of TBC Uzbekistan, commented: “TBC Salom has set a new benchmark for everyday banking in Uzbekistan, with strong demand demonstrating consumers preference for simple, accessible digital banking services. We’re continuing to expand our product offering in line with this principle, taking the hassle out of financial services and enabling customers to handle all their daily needs in one convenient place. As we enrich our offering, TBC Salom will continue to play a vital role as the primary entry point through which users engage with TBC Uzbekistan.”

Demand for TBC Salom has been driven by its seamless onboarding process, with card issuance and delivery free-of-charge, as well as its unique range of benefits, including 12% interest on balances, full reimbursements for cash top-ups and ATM withdrawals and 5% cashback with partner merchants.

TBC Uzbekistan expanded TBC Salom’s capabilities through a partnership with Visa in November 2025. The new Visa-issued TBC Salom unlocks additional benefits like 1% cashback on all purchases and 5% cashback on payments made via international marketplaces such as Taobao and AliExpress.

TBC Uzbekistan is a leading digital banking ecosystem in Central Asia and part of London-listed TBC Bank Group. TBC Uzbekistan’s success is driven by its purpose-built tech stack, experienced international team and a consumer lending-led product strategy, supported by its first-mover advantage in Central Asia’s largest nation by population. The company continues to expand its innovative, best-in-class product mix, leveraging low retail banking penetration and a rising appetite for modern financial services among the country’s young, growing, and digitally savvy population.

TBC Uzbekistan comprises a range of high-growth digital businesses operating in Uzbekistan: TBC UZ, the country’s largest digital bank; Payme, a digital payments app for individuals and small businesses; TBC Nasiya (TBC BNPL), a fast-growing instalment credit business, and TBC Insurance, its fully-digital insurance offering.

TBC Uzbekistan reached profitability two years after launch - a record time-to-profit among global digital banks, and has since scaled its user base to 22 million unique registered users. In 9M25, the company recorded operating income of $189 million, with its loan and deposit books up 93% and 73% year-ok-year respectively.
