Singapore -- Standard Chartered Bank has today announced the appointment of Ms Cheri McGuire as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Ms McGuire will report directly to Group Chief Information Officer, Dr Michael Gorriz and be based in London. In her new role, effective in June 2016, she will become a member of the Bank’s Information Technology and Operations Management Team.
Ms McGuire will be responsible for the Bank’s information and cyber security governance, strategy, regulatory engagement, policy development, training and awareness, as well as industry stakeholder partnerships. She will also be accountable for the Bank’s information security monitoring, third party risk management and vulnerability assessments.

She brings with her more than 25 years of experience in industry and government roles and will be a valuable addition to our team.”
Ms McGuire joins Standard Chartered from a leading provider of cyber security solutions, Symantec Corporation, where she has been Vice President of Global Government Affairs and Cyber Security Policy since 2010 and based in the US. In this global role, she has been responsible for Symantec’s public policy agenda and government partnership strategy, which includes cyber security, data integrity, critical infrastructure protection, and privacy. Prior to joining Symantec, she was Director for Critical Infrastructure and Cyber Security in Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing Group. She also held senior leadership roles at the National Cyber Security Division / US-CERT* of the US Department of Homeland Security, and was a programme manager at Booz Allen Hamilton.
