The Financial Supervisory Service seeks to focusing on innovation, trust, stability, shared growth and future as our annual strategic priorities for 2026 and sets corresponding tasks as well in order to prioritize financial consumers and stabilize the financial market at the same time. First, the FSS will continue to push forward internal innovation. We respectfully acknowledge and accept the criticism about the lack of control for supervision practices. Taking this as an opportunity for reform, the FSS will improve transparency and fairness of our supervision and sanctions review processes and drive internal innovation to better meet public demands. In addition, we will move to strengthen our competitiveness through the digitalization of financial supervisory tasks using artificial intelligence technology and the provision of consumer-centric services. Second, the FSS will create a fair paradigm. We will place financial consumers first and enhance consumer protection to achieve paradigm shift toward preventive consumer protection. By overhauling complaint handling and dispute resolution processes, we will pursue remedial consumer protection as well. In addition, the FSS will take stern measures against unfair and unsound practicesthat undermine consumers’ rights and interests, while encouraging financial companies to commit to responsible business conduct. Third, the FSS will set up a firm financial system. We will step up our monitoring efforts to respond to rapidly changing market conditions and potential default risks. We will proactively manage household and corporate debt levels to ensure that they do not weigh on the national economy. Also, the FSS will move to improve the supervisory system to maintain a balance between productive finance and risk management. Re-disseminated by The Asian Banker
