Salmon launches Huawei app to give access to 9 million new users

5 min read

Consumer fintech company Salmon launches its mobile app on the Huawei app gallery, following its initial release on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in April.

With this release, Salmon is expanding its reach to more than nine million Huawei users in the Philippines.

Salmon customers who use Huawei smartphones can now conveniently view their financing details and payment schedules through the app and settle outstanding balances through GCash and Maya e-wallets, as well as 7-Eleven and Cebuana Lhuillier branches nationwide.

Raffy Montemayor, co-founder of Salmon, said: “A mobile app is an integral part of a seamless customer service, making the release of the Salmon app one of our key priorities. We are delighted to now be able to provide this service to Huawei users across the Philippines. This move represents another step towards making our service as accessible as possible. We continue to analyse user behaviour on the app and use this data to improve our interface and implement additional features of benefit to our users.”

In a recent update to the app, Salmon expanded the range of channels through which users can access one-time password (OTP) authentication to include Viber and voice call. Salmon also plans to add OTP through push notifications soon.
