Kuala Lumpur – RHB Banking Group, under RHB Insurance Berhad (“RHB Insurance”) has launched AutoMax, a private car comprehensive insurance solution designed to bridge the ‘protection gap’ currently faced by Malaysian motorists. AutoMax offers a comprehensive combination of benefits, moving beyond traditional motor insurance by combining protection such as natural disaster coverage, theft allowances, and significantly extended roadside assistance into a single, convenient package. At a time when motorists are increasingly exposed to risks of flash floods and extreme weather events across the country, they may be unaware that standard comprehensive motor insurance does not automatically cover ‘Special Perils’ or natural disasters. This leaves vehicle owners financially vulnerable during catastrophic events. Oliver Tan Chuan Li, Managing Director, RHB Insurance said, “AutoMax was developed with a customer-centric mindset to address the evolving risks of modern driving. By packaging Special Perils and essential allowances into a clear, easy-to-understand offering, we are helping Malaysians better safeguard themselves against the financial impact of climate-related disasters.” AutoMax is offered in two distinct plans, Pro and Lite, allowing customers to align their coverage with their specific risk appetite and budget. The Pro plan is the flagship plan developed for road users who require broader protection, particularly on coverage against Special Perils such as floods and other natural disasters. The Lite plan, in contrast, is positioned to be more budget-friendly yet still delivering superior benefits beyond a standard comprehensive policy. AutoMax also offers a range of other value-added benefits that aid in reducing out-of-pocket exposure for the policy holder. For example, RHB Insurance has increased the towing limit for both accidents and breakdowns to a round trip of 600KM, a substantial upgrade from other basic motor insurance products commonly offered in the market. The product includes specific financial cushions such as an Accident Repair Allowance, and a Theft or Total Loss Allowance on top of Key Cover, a dedicated benefit to cover the cost of lost or damaged keys that are increasingly more expensive with the technological advancements in the automotive industry. By including coverage for all drivers, RHB Insurance is also removing the common concerns around unnamed drivers, ensuring the vehicle remains protected regardless of who is behind the wheel. “At the end of the day, peace of mind on the road is valuable, and this is exactly what we want our motoring community to achieve,” added Oliver Tan.
