Paymentology powers Asia United Bank’s digital payments surge in the Philippines

Manila, 19 October 2026 — Paymentology, the leading global issuer-processor has secured a strategic deal with Asia United Bank (AUB), one of the Philippines' leading universal banks, to power the institution's modern digital payments platform.

Announced at The Issuer Academy Thailand Masterclass, hosted by Paymentology in Bangkok, the partnership will integrate the company’s cloud-native issuing and real-time processing platform into AUB’s digital ecosystem. Paymentology’s platform will support AUB’s flagship e-wallet, HelloMoney, alongside its mobile banking services, QR Ph capabilities and digital transfer networks. In partnership with Alipay+, HelloMoney pioneered cross-border mobile payments for Philippine banks, enabling users to scan and pay via QR code across 60 major international destinations, including Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong SAR, and Singapore.

The deal positions Paymentology at the center of the Philippines' rapid shift toward digital finance. Latest Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas data reveals that 62% of households performed online financial transactions in 2025, up from 53% the previous year.

Through the partnership, AUB will draw on Paymentology’s modern issuing and payment processing capabilities as it continues to evolve its digital payments proposition. The collaboration will provide AUB with modern, scalable payments infrastructure designed to support faster innovation and the development of new payment products and customer experiences.

Wilfredo E. Rodriguez Jr., AUB Executive Vice President and Head of IT and Operations, said: “Driving digital innovation is central to our mission of providing fast, secure and frictionless financial solutions. Our partnership with Paymentology marks an important milestone in AUB’s digital transformation. By combining Paymentology’s advanced payments technology with AUB’s strong presence and understanding of the Philippine market, we can accelerate the rollout of modern payment products and continue delivering enhanced digital experiences to our customers.”

Anna Porra, Chief Revenue Officer at Paymentology, added: “The Philippines is an incredibly exciting payments market, with strong momentum behind digital adoption and financial inclusion. We’re proud to partner with AUB as it enters the next stage of its digital journey. Together, we have an opportunity to build payment experiences that are secure, scalable, and ready to evolve alongside AUB’s ambitions.”

At The Issuer Academy in Bangkok, Rodriguez also joined Paymentology for a panel discussion titled “Beyond Access: Building Digital Finance People Can Trust.” The session explored how financial institutions can move beyond expanding access alone and instead create digital financial experiences built around trust, usability and long-term customer relationships. The discussion reflected a wider priority for AUB as it continues to strengthen its digital offering: combining trusted customer relationships with the technology needed to deliver simpler, faster and more relevant payment experiences at scale.

For AUB, the partnership with Paymentology represents another step in that direction, giving the bank a modern payments foundation from which it can continue to develop its digital proposition and respond to the changing expectations of customers across the Philippines.
