Indonesian Finance Minister appoints Fuad Rahmany as the DG of Tax

Jakarta, January 21st 2011- Finance Minister Agus DW Martowardojo appoints Fuad Rahmany as Director General of Tax to replace Moh. Tjiptardjo. According to the Finance Minister, Fuad has a good track record in serving Kemenkeu. "Mr. Fuad Rahmany, since the early work, has a good reputation," says the Finance Minister after the inauguration in Djuanda I Building, Ministry of Finance, Jakarta on Friday (21/01). Finance Minister acknowledges Fuad’s ability at performing several policies. "Mr. Fuad Rahmany when he built Indonesia's debt management unit, it was very nice. He also became vice chairman of the BRR (Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Agency) of Aceh. When Aceh was hit by tsunami, there were not many officers that wanted to be assigned to Aceh. But Mr. Fuad was assigned to Aceh and we knew his reputation and his work were good. So was in the capital market," says the Minister. Therefore, the Minister hopes that, at the Director General of Tax (DGT), Fuad Rahmany is also able improve the performance of tax, including its Human Resources. "So the main task is to further refine the system and the organization including the Human Resources in taxation, then run the management of taxation, particularly state revenue, so that it can finance the State Budget (APBN) of Indonesia in 2011," he explains. Meanwhile, the Minister says that Moh. Tjiptardjo will be on duty at the DGT headquarters until his term expires in May 2011.
