Hang Seng unveils Retail Banking Centre at MTR Jordan Station

Hang Seng Bank (Hang Seng) has redefined the customer experience within its MTR network with the launch of its transformed MTR Jordan Station Retail Banking Centre.

This initiative introduces a future banking service model to Hong Kong’s commuter hubs. The upgraded facility and services represent a strategic evolution of retail banking, designed around the needs of customers.

Central to this transformation is the debut of the Smart Teller, alongside a suite of ATMs and a cheque deposit machine. Customers can now perform a full range of transactions – including HKD, USD and RMB cash deposits, multi-currency withdrawals (supporting HKD, RMB, and eight foreign currencies), foreign exchange services, new time deposit setup, account transfers, and other personal banking services – all with greater speed and efficiency. To better utilise the high-traffic service location at MTR Jordan station, Hang Seng has set up a dedicated information display, providing a series of valuable information on fraud prevention.

The MTR Jordan Station Retail Banking Centre now has branch service managers and a general banking manager on-site. They provide support for personal account opening, credit card applications, mortgage services and insurance solutions – helping commuters manage their wealth efficiently on their way to or from work.

To better align with the busy daily routines of customers at these high traffic locations, the upgraded centre at MTR Jordan station, along with three MTR Station offices (Central, Sheung Wan, and Kowloon), operates during new hours from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Operating hours on Saturday will remain unchanged from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Hang Seng has strengthened its ATM network within the MTR, expanding the number of stations with foreign currency ATMs from 23 to 39. Combined with RMB ATM services available at 29 additional stations, the locations offering foreign exchange (FX) or RMB ATM services cover approximately 70% of the MTR network. This enhanced presence makes banking services more accessible for customers.

Rannie Lee, head of wealth and personal banking at Hang Seng Bank said, “Hang Seng has been offering innovative and customer-centric banking services to customers. As a long-term business partner of the MTR, Hang Seng has been offering manned services in multiple stations along the MTR lines, with MTR Jordan Station Office as one of the first MTR station offices. The transformed MTR Jordan Station Retail Banking Centre marks the official launch of the bank's plan to enhance its services along MTR stations. Customers who use the Smart Teller benefit from a servicing time that is 50% faster compared to those of a traditional counter. By bringing new technology to MTR stations and reshaping our service hours, we aim to provide more efficient service in meeting customers’ needs. Moving forward, we plan to gradually introduce the Future Banking service model at various MTR station offices to offer more convenient services for all.”
