Hang Seng expands mobile investment services for corporates amid market volatility

Hang Seng Bank (“Hang Seng”) today announced the launch of Hong Kong stock trading on its Business Mobile Banking app (“Business Mobile Banking”), extending mobile digital investment capabilities to corporate customers. The new feature helps businesses respond faster to market opportunities and manage liquidity more flexibly amid a fast-changing operating environment.

A recent survey of more than 200 corporates in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area indicated that over half of corporates find their available surplus reserves shrinking despite business growth, while over 60% of respondents have not yet fully utilised surplus reserves to capture investment opportunities. The findings point to a growing need for more agile, day-to-day capital management as businesses navigate cost pressures and market volatility.

Regina Lee, Head of Commercial Banking of Hang Seng Bank, said: “In today’s business environment, companies are facing tighter margins, so every dollar needs to work harder. That’s why we’re helping customers manage their liquidity more flexibly and act quickly when opportunities arise. Bringing Hong Kong stock trading to our Business Mobile Banking is a key milestone in building a more comprehensive digital investment experience for business customers. Later this year, we plan to expand the offering to include funds, bonds and certificates of deposit, supporting customers with a more seamless, one-stop mobile platform for banking and investing.”

To meet evolving corporate investment needs, Hang Seng has extended its existing online Hong Kong stock trading service from Business e-Banking to Business Mobile Banking. Starting today, corporate customers can complete end-to-end securities account activation on their mobile devices, and then trade in-app with:

  • Unlimited real-time Hong Kong stock quotes at no additional charge
  • Automatic profit and loss (P&L) calculations to track the performance of securities holdings
  • A real-time portfolio overview, enabling customers to make faster and more informed financial decisions
