Hang Seng Bank announces senior executive appointment

Hang Seng Bank has appointed Shelley Zhou as head of corporate sustainability effective 25 May 2023. She will also become a member of the bank’s executive committee.

Prior to joining Hang Seng, Zhou was the managing principal at The Capital Markets Company Limited where she developed environmental, social, and governance (ESG) products and solutions for financial institutions in Asia-Pacific. Zhou established a capable team to deliver net-zero strategy advisory and ESG consultancy services, and provided internal capacity-building and external executive training on climate and ESG-related topics.

Zhou is a seasoned sustainability professional who brings to the bank over 18 years of experience in various facets of sustainability, including corporate sustainability, environmental and carbon management consultancy, as well as new energy and biotechnology in Hong Kong, the mainland and Singapore.

I am pleased to have Shelley on board to provide leadership in the development and execution of a holistic sustainability strategy for the bank, and help advance our efforts in partnership with industry stakeholders.”

Zhou holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Environmental Engineering from the National University of Singapore, a Master of Philosophy degree in Civil Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a Bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering from the Shanghai Tongji University.
