GIFT City branch in India commences operations

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) president and CEO Akihiro Fukutome announced the opening and start of operations at its GIFT City branch in the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City in Gujarat, India.

The new GIFT City branch will focus on the foreign currency-denominated lending business enabling SMBC to further strengthen its capabilities and capacity to support its clients in India.

With the opening of this branch, SMBC’s network in India is expanded to four branches: New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and GIFT City.
