Citi appoints new head of corporate banking for Taiwan

Citi has appointed Chelsea Chu as head of corporate banking for Taiwan, bringing over 26 years of banking experience from ANZ, where she led corporate coverage in Taiwan.

Chu is no stranger to Citi where she spent 20 years covering large corporate clients across industries in Taiwan. Chu’s return to the bank marks a strategic appointment for Citi given her experience and strong credentials as a trusted advisor for clients.

Since 2020, Citi has helped raise over $30 billion from global capital markets to support Taiwanese corporate clients, according to Dealogic data. Citi is currently ranked the market leading investment bank by market share year-to-date (YTD) by Dealogic, a position it also held in 2024.

Chu will be responsible to deliver the Citi platform across all client segments.

“We are confident that under her leadership, Citi’s market leading corporate banking franchise in Taiwan will further accelerate its strong growth trajectory,” said Kaleem Rizvi, Citi’s head of corporate banking for Japan, Australia and North Asia.

"We are delighted to welcome Chelsea back to Citi. Her deep experience and proven track record will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our client relationships and reinforce our leadership in Taiwan's corporate banking sector,” said Christie Chang, chair of Citi Taiwan Limited.
