5 min read

These appointments encompass two key businesses within the Group and the central Media Relations & Content Management department.

Carine Lauru, previously Head of Media Relations & Content Management for the BNP Paribas Group, is appointed to BNP Paribas Cardif as Head of Communications.

Carine is replacing Sally Guilbert, who has been appointed Head of Communications at BNP Paribas Personal Finance.

Julia Boyce, currently Global Head of Media Relations for the Group, is taking over from Carine Lauru as Group Head of Media Relations & Content Management.

Carine Lauru is appointed Head of Communications and Secretary to the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas Cardif, a worldwide specialist in personal insurance which employs 10,000 staff1 and has an annual turnover of €28 billion. She reports to Renaud Dumora, the Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas Cardif. Given her wide international experience, her in-depth knowledge of the news agenda and management posts she has previously occupied in the communications field, Carine is well-placed to assist the ongoing transformation of BNP Paribas Cardif and to accompany its ambitions of strengthening its partnership culture and building the insurance business of tomorrow.

After graduating from the Neoma Business School at Rouen in 1998, Carine Lauru joined BNP Paribas that same year and has pursued her entire career to date at the Group. Starting in the French Retail Banking network where she held both marketing and wealth management positions, Carine moved in 2002 to the Group Communications Department, where she became Head of the Group’s Press Service. Appointed Head of Group Internal Communications in 2007 and Head of Group Internal & External Information in 2009. She subsequently established in 2014 and lead until this year the Media Relations and Content Management department, where she developed a Social Media strategy and gave new impetus to the Group’s institutional communications.

In July, Sally Guilbert, former Head of Communications at BNP Paribas Cardif, joined the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas Personal Finance, the European leader in personal credit, as Head of Brand, Communications & Advertising. She replaces Marianne Huvé-Allard, appointed in April as Head of Brand & Communications at BNP Paribas Investment Partners. Sally’s wide experience in the fields of Communications and Business Development will enable her to accompany the strategic plan of BNP Paribas Personal Finance and its digital transformation.

With a diploma in Graphic Arts and Advertising, Sally Guilbert possesses a wide multi-disciplinary experience in all aspects of the communications field. A major part of Sally’s career has been spent at the BNP Paribas Group, which she joined in 2002. In 2010, she was appointed Head of Communications at BNP Paribas Cardif, having previously served as Head of Business Development at the Group’s online banking and brokerage specialist Consors. Prior to joining the Group, Sally worked in a number of communications management posts at various companies, including Gan-Groupama, Sopexa and Peintures Avi.

Julia Boyce is appointed BNP Paribas Group Head of Media Relations & Content Management and a member of the Executive Committee of the Group Communications Function, reporting to Bertrand Cizeau, the Head of Group Communications. Julia’s experience in the field of communications, her international background and her excellent knowledge of the Group’s businesses and geographies equip her ideally to assist the Group in promoting its strategy and developing its image.

Julia has an MBA (Executive) degree from the Australian School of Business at the University of NSW in Australia. She gained experience in communications and press relations at various international firms in Australia and the UK and then joined BNP Paribas in 2007 in Australia where she was Head of Communications for BNP Paribas Australia and New Zealand. She then moved to the BNP Paribas Group’s Media Relations team in 2011, becoming Global Head of Media Relations in 2014.

Commenting on these strategic intra-Group moves, Bertrand Cizeau, BNP Paribas Head of Group Communications, said: “I have total confidence in the ability of Carine, Sally and Julia to meet the rich challenges in each of their roles in the context of the profound changes occurring in the banking industry and communications industry. I wish all three of them every success in their respective new posts!”
