The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) affirmed their commitment to strengthen supervisory cooperation and enhance collaboration in capital markets at their annual supervisory roundtable held on 14 June 2024.

The roundtable was co-chaired by Ho Hern Shin, MAS’ deputy managing director for financial supervision, and Chen Huaping, CSRC’s vice chairman.

MAS and CSRC exchanged views on the regulatory frameworks for securities offering and listing, developments in sustainability disclosure requirements for listed companies, as well as the regulation of derivatives markets in both countries. The roundtable also explored potential collaboration between Singapore and Chinese exchanges to strengthen cross-border capital market activities including index collaboration.

Ho said: “MAS and CSRC continue to deepen our ties. This annual platform provides a valuable opportunity for mutual learning and collaboration on many areas of common interest. We look forward to increased capital market connectivity and participation of Chinese and Singapore financial institutions in each other’s markets.”
