Banking technology is at an inflection point. The industry is no longer asking whether AI, cloud and data will transform banking; that question has already been answered. The real issue now is what it takes to design banks that can operate as intelligent, adaptive and real-time systems. For many institutions, the ambition to build AI-enabled, responsive, and scalable banking models is moving faster than their ability to put the right foundations in place.
This gap is becoming more pronounced. While investments in AI and digital capabilities continue to accelerate, many banks are still building on data environments, system architectures and operating models that were not designed for real-time intelligence or continuous decisioning. As a result, the ability to scale AI beyond isolated use cases, and translate it into enterprise-wide impact, remains uneven. The focus is now shifting from adoption to execution, and from experimentation to building intelligence as a core capability.
At the same time, technology leaders are being asked to go beyond enabling systems. They are expected to design organisations that can support continuous learning, real-time processing, and AI-driven decision-making at scale. This raises more fundamental questions around what an AI-enabled bank actually requires, from data foundations and architectural choices, to operating models that can sustain adaptability, speed and control.
The Heads of Technology Roundtable is a closed-door, peer-level discussion bringing together senior technology leaders from across Asia Pacific. Held as part of The Asian Banker Summit 2026, this session will examine how banks are redesigning their data, architecture and operating models to support intelligent, AI-enabled banking at enterprise scale, and what it will take to build truly adaptive, futureready institutions.
Additional senior technology leaders from leading financial institutions across Asia-Pacific will be confirmed shortly. This curated, invitation-only roundtable is designed to maintain an intimate, peer level dialogue.
