The Operating Playbook for AI Banking

The Philippine economy enters 2026 on a measured but resilient footing. The World Bank and ADB project GDP growth in the 5.8–6.1% range, supported by household consumption, election-year fiscal stimulus, infrastructure rollout, and continued OFW remittance inflows of around USD 38 billion. Inflation has stabilised inside the BSP's 2–4% corridor, the policy rate has begun a measured easing cycle, and credit growth has reaccelerated in retail, MSME and consumer segments. For banks, this is the most constructive demand environment since 2019 — but it is also the moment competitive advantage is being recast.

The Philippine banking sector now sits at the intersection of three large transitions running simultaneously. First, an AI transition that is moving from co-pilots to autonomous workflows in collections, KYC, fraud, advisory and SME credit, with material implications for cost, headcount and revenue per customer. Second, a money transition, in which BSP's Project Agila wholesale CBDC, regulated PHP-linked stablecoins, dollar deposit tokens, and tokenised securities are reframing what “bank money” means and how treasurers, asset managers and corporates use it. Third, a connectivity transition, anchored by ASEAN cross-border QR (which crossed 12.9 million transactions in H1 2025), QR Ph, the BSP's Open Finance Phase 2 framework, and the Philippines' eventual readiness for Project Nexus.

Finance Philippines 2026 brings together the senior leaders, regulators, and infrastructure providers writing the operating playbook for this new era. Conversations will be biased toward execution: what works, at what unit economics, with what controls, and with what regulator alignment. The agenda is built around operating domains: retail and wealth, SME and commercial banking, transaction banking and cross-border payments, digital money, and resilience and fraud, with AI, tokenisation and open finance treated as enablers inside each domain rather than as standalone headline buckets.

Key sessions include:

  • The new operating economics of AI-era banking
  • Can agentic AI unlock the next growth model for banking?
  • What a production-grade AI banking stack looks like in 2026
  • How payment data is rewriting SME credit in the Philippines
  • Can banks turn payment fragmentation into a competitive advantage?
  • Can AI make mass-affluent wealth banking profitable at scale?
  • Can banks stay trusted in the age of AI-driven scams?
  • Is digital money finally ready for mainstream banking?
  • What happens when AI becomes embedded across the entire bank?

Who should attend:

The programme is designed for senior executives from banks, digital banks, fintechs, regulators, infrastructure providers, and large corporates with treasury and merchant-acceptance footprints across the Philippines and ASEAN, including:

  • CEOs, business heads, and senior leaders in retail banking, wealth, credit cards, and consumer credit
  • Senior executives in operations, technology, and systems seeking business insights into financial services
  • Senior leaders in risk, controls, and business development
  • Regional, branch, and distribution heads adapting to a rapidly changing environment
