A new decade of reform, challenges and a new normal

Emerging from COVID-19 - The global economic outlook The reform, development and opportunities of China’s financial sector in a new decade ahead Exchange of international best practices and regional case studies Interact with more than 400 senior bankers, investors, fintech players and inspirational leaders
The outbreak and spread of coronavirus from the beginning of this year has triggered the deepest global slump in decades adding to an environment of already slow growth due to policy uncertainty, trade tensions, geopolitics and deglobalisation in recent years. The World Bank forecasts that the pandemic will cut global GDP by 5.2% in 2020 with projections of a recession twice as deep and fast as the economic collapse brought on by the 2008 financial crisis. As the spread of the virus slows, countries are re-starting their economies. Although a stimulus package has led to signs of recovery, the Chinese economy faces continued and multi-faceted pressure this year. In confronting the lingering external and domestic headwinds, China is actively rebuilding macroeconomic and financial policy to enhance the economy’s resilience to adverse shocks while achieving sustainable growth and financial stability. At the same time, the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the full application of digital technologies in the financial service industry. At Finance China 2020,we will focus on how China’s financial institutions can turn the crisis into an opportunity, as well as accelerating industry development through further opening up measures and theapplication of disruptive technological innovations. Finance China, the leading annual conference, brings together financial institutions, regulators, policy makers, economists and services providers to meet and share professional insights, work on detailed solutions and discuss the latest trends in the industry.
