This week’s retail banking news includes HLB's integrated channels chief, HDFC Bank's credit cards for doctors, and Deutsche Bank's new retail banking platform.

HLB appoints integrated channels chief
Malaysia’s Hong Leong Bank (HLB) has named Simon Newman as chief branch banking and integrated channel development officer. Newman, who was recently CEO of insurance provider Aviva Singapore, will be responsible for HLB’s integrated channels which encompass branch development and operations, customer service, and digital channels.

HDFC Bank launches credit cards for doctors
India’s HDFC Bank has launched an exclusive range of credit cards for Doctors-- Doctor’s Superia and Doctor’s Platinum cards. These premium credit cards are designed to cater to the lifestyle, travel and other needs of doctors, allowing them access to more than 600 airport lounges around the world and reward point redemption across all major airlines in India.

Deutsche Bank unveils high performance retail banking platform
Deutsche Bank has launched “Magellan”, its latest information technology (IT) and processing platform for banking services in Europe. “Magellan” comprises the entire IT infrastructure as well as all of the clearing and settlement processes of the Private & Business Clients (PBC) unit in Germany, and will provide the shared foundation for operating the branches of both Deutsche Bank and Postbank.
