Hong Kong, October 30th 2013 - The Royal Bank of Scotland plc (RBS) announces Cissy Hon has joined the bank as Head of Trade Product Management, North Asia and Head of Supply Chain Finance, Asia.
This appointment demonstrates the bank's commitment to further strengthen its Transaction Services to support clients' growing needs. Earlier this month, RBS also saw Carole Berndt start as Global Head of Transaction Services from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, a senior hire that underscores RBS's commitment in investing and growing its transaction services franchise.
In this newly created role, Ms. Hon will be responsible for driving the Trade product strategy for North Asia, building on the achievements in Hong Kong, China, Japan and Korea. She will also lead the growth of the Supply Chain Finance business in Asia, leveraging on its success in North America and Europe. Ms Hon reports regionally to Sim Woon Yap, Head of Trade Product Management Asia Pacific and functionally into Anil Walia, Global Head of Supply Chain Finance.
Ms. Hon brings with her over 20 years of Trade Finance Banking experience at several banking organisations, most recently with BNP Paribas in Hong Kong, where she was Head of Global Trade Solutions for Local Corporates and Structured Finance. In that role, she launched Renminbi cross-border trade settlement solutions.
Prior to BNP Paribas, Ms. Hon also worked at Deutsche Bank as the Head of Asian and Large Local Corporates for the Global Transaction Bank and Citibank as the Regional Supply Chain Solutions Sales Manager for the Treasury and Trade Division.
Ms. Hon graduated with Cum Laude honours from San Francisco State University, with a Bachelor of Science, Computing Information System. She also holds a MBA from The Hong Kong University of Science Technology.
