Maria Dwyer named State Street Global Advisors CRO

Boston, March 4th 2013 - State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the asset management business of State Street Corporation, announced today the appointment of Maria Dwyer, as chief risk officer. Dwyer, age 54, previously served as chief regulatory officer at MFS Investment Management. She will assume her new role at SSgA effective immediately.

"We are very pleased to bring Maria Dwyer's significant and varied expertise to our risk management team," said Scott Powers, president and chief executive officer of SSgA. "Maria brings a combination of experience in key risk and compliance oversight roles as well as operations and processes in investment management. In this key leadership role, her expertise will be central to continuing SSgA's commitment to providing clients with solutions to complex investment problems."

Maria Dwyer joined MFS in 2004, and during her tenure held a range of senior level positions in Compliance, Fund Treasury and Risk Management. Prior to joining MFS, Dwyer was president and treasurer for the Fidelity Group of Funds at Fidelity Management and Research Company (FMR). Dwyer's career spans more than two decades and includes a significant breadth of experience in asset management across various operational and legal areas, including investment products, tax and internal audit.
