Jiang Chaoliang appointed to IIF board

October 24th 2012 - In recent days, Mr. Jiang Chaoliang, Chairman of the Agriculture Bank of China Limited (“ABC”), was appointed to the Board Directors of The Institute of International Finance (IIF). Founded in 1983, IIF is the most influential institute in the global financial industry with over 460 members spreading in more than 70 countries and regions in the world. IIF is committed to helping the global financial industry to reinforce risk management and implement the best practices, and advocating regulatory, fiscal and economic policies conductive to global financial stability.

Since joining IIF in 2001, ABC has been maintaining long-term friendly and cooperative relations with IIF. Mr. Jiang Chaoliang’s election demonstrates ABC’s significant status and influence in the international financial industry. In the future, Mr. Jiang Chaoliang and ABC will dedicate themselves to further reinforcing the representativeness and voice of China’s banking industry in the international financial industry. He will communicate and settle emergent financial risks on behalf of Chinese financial institutions with leaders from large international financial institutions, and participate in formulating and implementing global financial policies. Moreover, he will provide opinions and suggestions on financial reform and development in emerging markets, and demonstrate China’s achievements in its opening-up and economic and financial reforms. ABC will take this opportunity to further improve its operation and management ability, enhance cross-border financial services, and steadily carry forward international operation based on domestic business.
