Former MAS chief data officer joins Nexus FrontierTech’s advisory board

Nexus FrontierTech has announced the appointment of David Hardoon, former chief data officer and special advisor (artificial intelligence) of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), as an independent advisor of the firm.

At MAS, Hardoon led the development of AI strategy for Singapore’s financial sector, driving efforts in promoting open cross-border data flows. He was MAS’ first appointed chief data officer and head of the data analytics group. He currently advices Singapore’s Corrupt Investigation Practices Bureau as well as Central Provident Fund Board as senior advisor (artificial intelligence) and senior advisor (data science), respectively.

“David Hardoon is a fantastic addition to our advisory board, who advise us on high-growth critical organisational leadership and strategy,” Nexus FrontierTech’s chief executive officer Danny Goh said. “We will undoubtedly benefit from his vast experience in driving AI strategy in the financial sector, one of our target markets and where we can deliver the most value for clients.”

Hardoon will be joining Nexus FrontierTech’s senior advisory board that includes Stilwell Foundation’s president and Monitor Consulting Group’s former senior advisor Jim Sintros, Group CEO of United World, AMAS Holdings and ex-Procter & Gamble finance manager Abdullah Alghamdi, Hult International Business School’s president Stephen Hodges, PhD, Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team’s former CEO Nick Fry, Deloitte UK’s former vice chairman and Deloitte EMEA Financial Services’ co-head Nick Sandall, GIC’s former managing director and advisor Jennifer Lewis and Cisco Global Ventures former global managing director Tom Yoritaka.

As part of the senior advisory board, Hardoon will provide counsel in the area of organisational growth and development and strategy.

Having closed a $3.8M seed round late last year, Nexus FrontierTech is investing heavily in research and development (R&D) and business development growth in the Asian region. The newly acquired funding will be used to amp up the company’s R&D capabilities, playing a key role in an aggressive global growth strategy to help companies accelerate digital transformation.

The firm has had its eyes set on Singapore as a financial and technological hub and has expanded its team to tap into the immense business opportunities present in the Southeast Asian region.

Hardoon holds a doctorate degree in computer science in the field of machine learning from the University of Southampton and graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with first class honors BSc in computer science and artificial intelligence.
