Fidelis Oruche appointed Bank of Singapore trading advisory head

Singapore, February 4th 2013 - Bank of Singapore today announced the appointment of Mr Fidelis Oruche as Head of Trading Advisory and Product Development. Mr Oruche, who has more than 17 years of experience working with global financial institutions in Asia (including Japan) in various capacities reports to Mr Marc Van de Walle, Global Head of Products.

Mr Oruche leads a team of close to 60 trading advisors, product specialists, and middle office support staff who provide strategic trading advisory services and oversee the execution of trades across asset classes.

Prior to joining Bank of Singapore, he was Head of Asia EM Trading (Fixed Income and Currencies) at Royal Bank of Canada, Hong Kong. Between 2005 and 2010, Mr Oruche was with Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore, where he held the position of Managing Director, Structured Solutions Group, responsible for structuring derivative solutions for capital markets and corporate finance. Prior to that he was Managing Director and Global Co-Head of FX Options Trading. He has also held positions at Lehman Brothers, Japan and AIG Trading, Singapore.

Mr Oruche started his career in 1995 and spent seven years with Merrill Lynch, starting in London as an Analyst before moving to Singapore in 1998 as a Vice President, Global FX Options.

He holds a BSc in Actuarial Science from City University, London and a BSc in Mathematics from Salford University, Manchester.
