He replaces John Gibbons who has accepted a new role outside the industry.

Garth Richie, Head of Corporate & Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank, said: “GTB is a core strength of the bank and a critical element of our offering to clients. All of us on the management board want to see this business develop and grow in a controlled, purposeful way, and I am confident that Stefan has the skills and drive to take our Global Transaction Bank forward.”

Stefan joined the firm as a graduate in 2003. He built his career in institutional sales, taking on leadership roles in sales, structuring and trading, and currently serves as Co-Head of Institutional & Treasury Coverage (ITC).

In his 15 years with the firm, including time spent working in GTB itself, Stefan has developed close relationships with many key transaction banking clients as well as a strong understanding of the GTB business.

“I look to Stefan to leverage his experience as well as his leadership skills to drive the evolution of GTB in the months and years ahead. Stefan will bring fresh thinking to our digital and platform solutions which are paramount in today’s transaction banking industry,” he added.
