Barclays names John Chang Korea country manager

Seoul, June 27th 2013 - Barclays today announces the appointment of John Chang as Country Manager for Barclays Korea. Mr Chang will continue as Head of Equities – Korea reporting to Nick Wright, Head of Equities –Asia Pacific and will now also report to Robert Morrice, Chairman & CEO, Barclays Asia Pacific in this new role.

Mr. Chang, who joined Barclays in 2011 as Head of Equities- Korea, replaces Joe Shin who has taken the decision to retire from Barclays after leading its franchise in Korea for the past six years.

Before joining Barclays, Mr Chang worked at Deutsche Securities Korea where he was Head of GME (Equity Division), Managing Director and prior to that he held a variety of roles at SG Securities and HSBC.

Commenting on the appointment, Robert Morrice, Chairman & CEO of Barclays, Asia Pacific, said: “We are extremely pleased that John has accepted this appointment. He has demonstrated strong leadership qualities since joining Barclays and successfully launching our Equities business. Together with Jiho Kim, Head of Investment Banking Division and Silvia Kim, Head of FICC* Trading, Korea we are confident that we have a strong leadership team in place to continue to develop and grow our franchise in Korea.
