BAFT-IFSA appoints Stacey Facter as trade services SVP
Jul 18, 2013

Washington, July 15th 2013 - BAFT-IFSA, an international financial services association, announced today that Stacey Facter will join the association as senior vice president of trade services.

Facter has more than 30 years of experience in global trade at both banking and trading companies. Most recently, she was an executive director at JPMorgan Chase, responsible for global trade operating risk management. Facter has a diverse background in trade finance including traditional and structured trade, risk distribution, insurance and supply chain finance.

"Stacey's background in trade finance, risk management, credit and distribution provides tremendous experience to support and advance the priorities of the association," said BAFT-IFSA President and CEO Tod Burwell. "At a time when banks are challenged by higher capital requirements, strict regulatory and compliance guidelines and balance sheet limitations to support growth of global trade, her background is a perfect fit for this role."

Facter will lead all BAFT-IFSA initiatives related to trade. In this capacity, Facter will support various committees and leadership groups, including BAFT-IFSA's Global Trade Industry Council - comprised of global heads of trade and the London group - a working group focused on facilitating institutional investment in trade finance. The GTIC provides thought leadership for the international trade community and drives dialogue on innovative solutions to challenges in global trade finance and transaction banking.

"We are very pleased that Stacey is joining us, she will play a key role in supporting our members and the industry with her strong international background and experience at a critical time when the global relevance of trade in fostering economic growth is so important," said Rita Gonzalez, chair of BAFT-IFSA's board of directors and managing director with HSBC USA.
