AXA IM makes key appointments in retail, wholesale sales & marketing teams

AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) recently announced the appointment of six senior hires within the distribution and marketing teamsin Asia, to support the firm’s longer-term ambitions of doing more for clients in the region.

The wealth management industry is a rapidly growing industry that looks to continue over the next 5 years. To better serve the private weath growth in Asia, Ronald Liu, Director, Private Banks Asia and Marilyn Wang, Director, Private Banks Singapore will focus on leading and enhancing private bank client relationships in the region. Both bring a wealth of experience and allow AXA IM to deepen our engagement with our clients.

Powell Cheung, Director, Asia Retail, will lead AXA IM’s efforts in building distribution partnerships with retail intemediaries in Hong Kong as well as wholesale segments in Taiwan and Southeast Asia. The firm also hired Miu Shui, Associate Director, Asia Retail. Ms. Shui joins from an internationally renowned fund house in Hong Kong and is responsible for growing the client relationships in Hong Kong and in Taiwan. The firm’s latest hire, Arthip Nathikanchanalab joins as Associate Director, Asia Retail in January 2020 from a top tier asset management firm in Bangkok. He will predominantly focus on maximizing AXA IM’s coverage in Southeast Asian markets including Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. 

Along with the appointments above, in 2019 AXA IM also brought on board Wendy Loke as Head of Marketing and Communications, Asia Pacific (excluding Japan). In this capacity, Ms. Loke spearheads the marketing and communication efforts in the region, under the purview of the global marketing organisation led by Hazel Pitchers based in London. Sitting in AXA IM’s Hong Kong office, she and her team are responsible for leading a range of initiatives including raising AXA IM’s brand awareness in focused markets, and enhancing client experience via digital channels, thought leadership and events.
