This week’s retail banking news includes Credit Suisse’s new wealth management unit, Citi’s new consumer banking head for MENA, and ICICI Bank’s latest credit card.

Credit Suisse forms new wealth management unit
Credit Suisse will reorganise its business by combining its asset management unit with its private bank to form a new wealth management division. Hans-Ulrich Meister and Robert Shafir will head the newly created private banking & wealth management division, and Meister will continue to head private banking in Switzerland, Europe and the Asia Pacific regions.

Citi appoints new MENA consumer banking head
Citigroup named Dinesh Sharma as its consumer banking head for the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region. Prior to this, he served as consumer group risk director for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He will be based in Dubai and will report to Atiq Ur Rehman, CEO of Citi Middle East.

ICICI Bank launches Diamant credit card
India’s ICICI Bank has launched the ICICI Bank Diamant, a super premium card for private banking customers. The card, which is available on the MasterCard World platform and offers a wide range of privileges for customers, is another addition to the bank’s “Gemstone Collection” of credit cards.
